Tui came into Isla’s life on a small farm beneath the Canterbury foothills. The young alpaca was curious from the beginning, always following Isla as she checked the fences and carried feed across the paddocks.
Every morning, Tui waited beside the farm gate. Even on cold days when mist covered the hills, she would greet Isla with a soft hum and walk quietly beside her.
Years later, when Tui passed away, Isla still found herself looking towards the gate each morning. The paddock was not empty, but it no longer felt the same.

To remember their daily walks, Isla chose a Personalised Pet Memorial Stone, engraved with Tui’s portrait, name and the words:
“Meet me where the hills touch the sky.”
She placed it beside the gate where Tui had waited for her so many times.
Now, when the morning mist begins to lift over the Canterbury hills, Isla pauses there before starting her day. Tui no longer walks beside her, but the path they shared will always carry her memory.
