Poppy’s Place by the Window

Poppy’s Place by the Window

For sixteen years, Poppy shared a quiet little home in York with her owner, Eleanor. Every morning, she would curl up beside the front window, watching raindrops slide down the glass and keeping a careful eye on the birds in the garden.

Poppy was never far away. She waited by the door when Eleanor returned from work, slept beside her on cold winter evenings, and somehow always knew when she needed comfort.

After Poppy passed away, the house felt unusually still. Eleanor continued to glance towards the window, almost expecting to see her sitting there.

To honour their years together, Eleanor chose a Personalised Pet Memorial Plaque, engraved with Poppy’s name, portrait and the words:

*“You made this house a home.”*

She placed the plaque beneath Poppy’s favourite window, surrounded by lavender and small white flowers. Now, whenever the morning light falls across it, Eleanor remembers the gentle companion who filled her home with warmth.

Poppy may no longer be waiting by the window, but her love will always remain there.
